Irfan Pathan has been a surprise inclusion into the Chennai Super Kings after being unsold in the first round of the auction. Irfan has been eyeing the Indian team return and IPL will be the ideal platform to prove his metal again.  He has done this in the past when speculations were doing the rounds that it would almost be impossible for the southpaw to return to international cricket but he proved them wrong and was included in the Indian team back in 2011.  Irfan is one of the strong contenders to make a comeback in the Indian team as he is capable of performing both with the bat and ball. The opportunity has now come for the younger Pathan as he has been picked in the team which is led by the Indian captain, looking at the developments and form there is every possibility of Irfan doing well for the side as he has been an experienced campaigner having played 98 matches in the IPL. This is will be a crucial tournament for Irfan and the last thing he would want to do is to underperform at this mega tournament after a good Ranji Trophy season. Pathan has the reputation of being a floater who can bat at different positions and at the same time bowl at different stages of the game which gives the captain a sense of flexibility.

Sehwag has been one of India’s finest openers’ and it has been more than two years since he wore the blue jersey. Viru has last played for the Indian cricket team back in 2013 against Australia.  He has a past wherein he was out of the Indian team and returned when nobody expected to him to.  Sehwag continues to have the zeal to play to for India again and his recent performances at the domestic level clearly depict that. He had done exceedingly well for the Delhi team and has now been a significant player for Kings Xl Punjab. Sehwag is confident of an International comeback and this IPL is the time to do it. Sanjay Bangar who is the coach for the team has showered words of praise and stated that Viru has been practicing extremely hard and has the hunger to make his way back in to the Indian circuit. Virender Sehwag should be mindful of the fact that the current Indian opening pair has been in good form and for him to get a look in he has to play some extra ordinary cricket, which he is easily capable of doing.

He was the most expensive player in the recently held IPL auction. The south paw will surely be a key player for the DD and will use this opportunity as his chance to stage a comeback.  Yuvraj has been in good form with the bat and played in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, where he has scored more than 100 runs with an average of 38.33.  The intent is clearly visible and it will not take long before Yuvraj gets going and make the cut into the Indian team.

Robin is high on confidence as he had a solid Ranji Trophy, along with the Karnataka team who successfully defended the Champions title they won last year. He was the highest run scorer in the domestic season. Robin will be waiting for the IPL to kick off as he missed the opportunity to play for the Indian team as he was excluded from the final 15 even after being named in the list of 30 probables for the world cup. He has been in good touch with the bat and got the Karnataka team off to a flier every time he went on to the field in the domestic games. His hand eye coordination and timing will come in handy and is a dangerous player once he gets going. Robin Uthappa will have to face some tough competition to make it to the Indian team but he would not want to give up and will be viewing IPL as a huge opportunity to get into the Indian team.
