Top 10 batsmen with highest average in IPL: The
Twenty20 format hardly asks for consistency given it mostly depends up
on power hitting which was proved wrong many player including in IPL.
Here, we look at the players with highest average in Indian Premier
League. (Minimum 500 runs)

Indians, Andrew Symonds had made consistent performances. In 36 innings
he played, he averaged 36.07 scoring 974 runs.

the consistent performers in IPL. He has adjusted to the batting
positions quite well and averaged 37.12 in the IPL in the 32 innings

The Australian, Steven Smith had got very few chances with batting
low down but has consistently scored runs. He played in 28 innings
scoring 668 at a good average of 39.29. 6- JP Duminy: 39.65

Irrespective of which team and how his team plays, Duminy had his
consistent scores going on. Played for Deccan, Mumbai and Delhi, Duminy
averaged 39.65 in the 52 innings he batted scoring 1388 runs. 5 – Michael Hussey: 40.42

Referred as Mr.Cricket in general, Hussey has had a brilliant IPL.
Played for Chennai and Mumbai mostly in opening role, Hussey scored 1900
runs at a good average of 40.42 in the 54 innings.

MS Dhoni is the only Indian to be in the Top 10 batsmen list with
highest averages in IPL. Given the position he plays in IPL, helped to
betray his average with the not outs. He scored 2614 runs in 99 innings
at an average of 40.84. 3 – Shaun Marsh: 43.84

Shaun Marsh might not have got many games to play in IPL despite of
been available for every possible season. However, every time he played
he proved his worst. He scored 1973 runs in just 51 innings at a
brilliant average of 43.84. 2 – Chris Gayle: 47.50

Gayle probably has been the most consistent performer in the IPL
since his comeback in 2011. He returned to IPL in 2011 in midway for
Royal Challengers Bangalore and had been in top run scorers list in
every season. He averaged 47.5 by scoring 2708 runs in 67 innings. 1 – David Miller: 48.10

The Killer from South Africa, David Miller joined IPL in 2012 for
Kings XI Punjab. Since his inception in IPL, he performed well every
possible time. He averaged 48.1, the highest in the IPL so far scoring
962 runs in 34 innings. 14 not outs in those 34 also a reason for the
good average.
